Scriptures to Ponder

Do not let this book of the law depart from your mouth meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8 Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, so that it may benefit those who listen. Ephesians 4:29 The Lord does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward apprearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. 1 Samuel 16:7 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. Jeremiah 29:11

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY

Saturday Jeremy & I started our St. Patrick's Day celebrations by going to Downtown Chicago for the Parade. The first time that either of us went to the Parade. I really just wanted to see the Green River. We took the train downtown. Holly & I took the Metra the first time we came to visit, but this was my first time on the L. It was interesting. There were A TON of people in green taking the train down to the parade/bars. We got on the train around 11 & there were a lot of drunk people that joined us.

When we got downtown, this was the crowd behind us. Jeremy & I were able to squeeze our way to about 3 deep from the front of the parade - pretty happy about that since I am short & need to be close. By the time we left, there were about 3 deep behind us. It was a long parade & apparently people did not have the patience for it. We left early too!

I think EVERYONE has wished they could ride in the Oscar Mayer Weiner mobile! How cool is that?

Ahhhhh the green river! Just as green as my sweatshirt (Thanks Krista for the sweatshirt or I would have had nothing to wear!)

Tonight we will be eating Corned beef & Hash. Something that I have never had nor have I had the interest in having, but I guess I'm having it. Jeremy LOVES the stuff.

This man is a hero

The little girl in this photo is Kirsta, Jeremy's niece. The man with his eyes closed is Jerry - Jeremy's grandma's cousin. He has little Chihuahuas. One day while placing a rug and sofa he realized that he put the sofa ON one of the Chihuahuas. So, they quickly got the dog out & saw that the dog was not moving. Bravely, Jerry gave the dog CPR to pump air into his squished lungs. Thanks to Jerry's smart thinking and quick action, he saved the little pup.
It was such an amazing story & I was just honored to have met him this past Sunday!

Weather Men

The other day at the dinner table, Cody said "it would be embarrassing to be a weather man and be wrong about the weather." I thought to myself, "I don't think that they really care." Then Brayden says, "weather men are never wrong." Oh to be so trusting.

Saturday & Sunday were gorgeous days here. Sunday was windy but almost 80. Then Monday night the weather man said that we were going to get 8-10 inches of snow. So Tuesday morning it is barely snowing & they cancel school & that was the end of the snow. We got JUST enough for a light dusting on the ground. Brayden then realized that they ARE wrong at times.

Forecast tonight 2-4 inches of snow.

Sunday we took the kids to the park. Actually to the school playground since we live next to the school. It was great!

My monkey boys.

I realized at the park that I am getting old! This thing that I am standing on bounces up and down. The boys pulled together to bounce me up & down. I started screaming, I thought I was going to die! But look at us all wearing shorts!
